Volkswagen sales 2011 in Indian market hit a record, up 109%

Volkswagen Group has announced its 2011 sales in the Indian market as 111,623, an increase of 109.3% than 2010 sales of 43,341 vehicles. Volkswagen's market share in India from 2.5% growth in 2010 to 4.9%.

Volkswagen brand sales in India in 2011 to 76,107 units, up 151%; Skoda brand sales of 30,005 units, up 49.9%; Audi brand sales of 5,511 units, an increase of 83.5%.

In 2011, Volkswagen's Chakan plant in India to produce 10 million cars, the localization of the mass productivity in India from 60% to 73%, the number of outlets from 56 to 219 upgrade.

Volkswagen India regional director John Chacko said that despite the turmoil in the Indian car market in 2011, Volkswagen is still achieved a high sales growth, the growth of production and sales data shows that more and more public recognition in the Indian market.
